MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Trailing 1-0 early in the second quarter, the Cortland field hockey team closed the game with three consecutive goals to earn a come-from-behind 3-1 victory at Montclair St. Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Red Dragons improved to 2-0 with the win, while the Red Hawks fell to 0-1.

Freshman Keirra Ettere (Mahopac/Lakeland) scored twice and freshman Hanna Corrigan (Barneveld/Holland Patent) registered a goal for Cortland. Senior goalie Megan McGuinness (Carle Place) made seven saves, and senior Alanie Genter (Saratoga Springs) recorded a defensive save.

Carlie Van Tassel scored for Montclair St. with Linsey Champa assisting on the goal. Goalie Lauren Pickul turned aside seven shots.

Van Tassel gave the Red Hawks the lead just 55 seconds into the second quarter with a turnaround shot deep in the circle. Ettere tied the game 1:08 later, blasting a 10-yard shot that hit off Pickul's stick and trickled over the goal line.

Corrigan scored the game-winning goal 7:18 into the third quarter with a shot inside the left post after carrying along the end line. Ettere added an insurance goal with 7:29 remaining, knocking a shot inside the left post from the top of the circle.
