FREDONIA, N.Y. – Graduate student Jaden Galluzzo (Commack) scored her team-high eighth goal of the season late in the game as the Cortland women's soccer team defeated Fredonia, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons improved to 7-0-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference and have started a season undefeated in the first 10 games for the first time since 1993 when the team started 9-0-1.

Freshman Julia DeTurris (Hicksville) assisted on Galluzzo's goal. Sophomore goalie Kristen Spendal (Dumont, NJ) made three saves in posting her sixth shutout of the season for Cortland. Goalie Sabrina Suriani stopped eight shots for the Blue Devils (2-6-2, 0-4).

After a scoreless first half in which Cortland outshot Fredonia, 10-2, Galluzzo netted the game winner in the 84th minute off DeTurris' assist. The Red Dragons held the Blue Devils without a shot for the remainder of the game in sealing the 1-0 victory.
