CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland women's soccer team clinched the top seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament with a 6-0 victory versus Oneonta Wednesday afternoon at Holloway Field. The host Red Dragons improved to 11-1-3 overall and 7-0-1 in the conference and conclude their regular season at home versus Brockport on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Graduate student
Jayden Kelley (East Berne/Voorheesville) scored a pair of first-half goals to lead the Cortland offense. Graduate student
Jaden Galluzzo (Commack) and sophomore
Katie Cosenza (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) each added a goal, and freshmen
Keara Johnson (Mount Hope/Minisink Valley) and
Lexi Burke (East Williston/The Wheatley School) netted their first career goals.

Julia DeTurris (Hicksville) collected three assists, while senior
Katrina Klammer (Mahopac) and junior
Cam Stone (Ilion) each registered an assist for Cortland.
Sophomore
Kristen Spendal (Dumont, NJ) made one save in the first half for the host Red Dragons before giving way to freshman
Rykah Dowling (Port Tobacco, MD/Henry E. Lackey), who stopped one shot over the final 45 minutes in her first collegiate action. Graduate student Claire Lepper (Poland) turned aside eight shots for Oneonta (3-9-1, 1-6-1 SUNYAC).
Galluzzo tallied the game-winning goal in the 29th minute, finishing off a breakaway with a shot into the open goal after a long carry through the midfield and deking Lepper one-on-one. DeTurris then assisted on the next three goals as the hosts took a 4-0 lead at the half. Kelley's first goal came on a rebound in the 34th minute after DeTurris' shot hit the right post. Kelley made it a 3-0 game with a one-time shot under the crossbar from 10 yards out in the 38th minute, and Johnson put Cortland ahead 4-0 with a one-touch shot in front off a DeTurris cross from the left 1:31 before the break.
Cosenza pushed the lead to 5-0 in the 55th minute, scoring on a loose ball in front after a corner kick. Burke completed the scoring in the 68th minute, knocking in her own rebound after Lepper made the initial save for the 6-0 final.
