ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Cortland women's lacrosse team held Oneonta scoreless for the final 39 minutes, 21 seconds of the game and pulled away for a 15-3 victory in SUNYAC action Wednesday afternoon. The visiting Red Dragons evened their overall record at 4-4 and improved to 2-0 in the conference. The host Red Dragons dropped to 2-5 and 0-1.

Hannah Lorenzen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) paced the Cortland offense with five goals and one assist. Freshman
Gabby Meager (Syracuse/West Genesee) matched her season high with four goals. Senior
Hannah Keech (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) and sophomore
Toni Cashman (East Moriches/Westhampton Beach) each tallied two goals. Senior
Lauren Hopsicker (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) recorded a goal and an assist, junior
Madelyn Czyz (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) netted a goal and junior
Rachel Janis (Laurel/Mattituck) collected two assists.

Paige Potter (Cortland) made nine saves in goal for Cortland. Lorenzen secured eight draw controls, while Czyz contributed six draws, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Megan Foiles recorded a goal and an assist for Oneonta, and Rachel Morris and Kelly McCloe scored one goal each.
Goalie Courtney Gallagher turned aside 10 shots and scooped up two ground balls. Erynn Rocovich finished with four ground balls and three caused turnovers, and Nicolette Lospitalie and Margaret Byrne secured three ground balls apiece.
The visiting Red Dragons jumped out to a 4-0 lead just 5:36 into the game as four different players found the back of the net. Oneonta netted back-to-back goals to pull to within 4-2, but Meager's second goal of the game put Cortland ahead, 5-2, after the first quarter. Meager scored to open the second quarter, and Foiles answered at the 9:21 mark with Oneonta's last goal of the game to make it a 6-3 score. Keech and Meager closed the first half with goals at 5:41 and 29 seconds, respectively, for an 8-3 Cortland advantage.
The second half belonged to Cortland, as the visiting Red Dragons outscored the host team, 7-0, including 6-0 in the fourth quarter. Lorenzen netted the lone goal of the third quarter, and she added three more in the fourth quarter while Cashman scored twice and Czyz picked up a goal for the 15-3 final.
