BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Cortland men's lacrosse team outscored Brockport, 7-3, in the second half to break open a tight game in earning a 14-7 win Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons improved to 6-6 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Golden Eagles fell to 7-3 and 2-1.

Senior Christopher Dovi (Cortland) led Cortland with four goals. Senior Troy Morris (Long Beach) tallied three goals, and graduate student Zak Jones (East Quogue/Westhampton Beach) netted two goals. Graduate student Brandon Stiles (Mastic/Eastport-South Manor) recoded one goal and one assist, and senior Pat Doyen (Miller Place), junior Austin Palmer (Hamburg/St. Francis) and freshmen Ryan Scanlon (Cornelius, NC/William Amos Hough) and Joe DeLany (Camillus/West Genesee) each added a goal, while senior Dante Yacavone (Homer) contributed three assists.

Sophomore goalie Travis Wagner (Penfield) made four saves in 57:49 for the Red Dragons. Junior Matt Stento (Bethlehem) played the final 2:11, stopping one shot. Senior Dominick Natale (Homer) finished with four caused turnovers and three ground balls, graduate student Jacob Rivers (Homer) scooped up four ground balls and caused three turnovers and senior Justin Wainwright (Homer) caused three turnovers.

Jack Peterson scored twice for Brockport, and five others added a goal. Goalie John Felice turned aside 17 shots. Ethan Stiles won 16-of-23 faceoffs and secured seven ground balls. Aidan Fitzgerald netted a goal, collected three ground balls and caused three turnovers, and Anthony McGee finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
