DALLAS, PA. – The nationally 18th-ranked Cortland field hockey team broke open a close game with five second-half goals in earning a 7-0 victory at Misericordia Friday night in non-conference play. The Red Dragons improved to 3-0, while the Cougars dropped to 2-2.
Senior
Lily Fox (Northport) paced the Cortland offense with two goals and two assists, and sophomore
Keirra Ettere (Mahopac/Lakeland) also scored twice. Sophomore
Hanna Corrigan (Barneveld/Holland Patent) tallied one goal and one assist, sophomore
Jamie Snyder (North Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse) added a goal, freshman
Molly Miller (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) scored her first career goal and junior
Madison Rice (Greene/Greene Central) and sophomore
Sydney Reinisch (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) each collected an assist.

Emma Morgan (Whitney Point) made two saves for the Red Dragons in recording her second shutout of the season. Goalie Taylor Deiter registered eight saves for Misericordia.
Ettere scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 9:21 mark of the opening quarter. Fox's first goal 30 seconds into the second quarter made it a 2-0 game at the half. The Red Dragons took control of the game with three third-quarter goals, one each from Ettere, Snyder and Corrigan. Miller pushed the lead to 6-0 at 52:05, and Fox capped the scoring just over two minutes later for the 7-0 final.
