PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Cortland and nationally 23rd-ranked Plattsburgh opened SUNYAC play with a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon in Plattsburgh. The Red Dragons' record now stands at 3-0-3 overall and 0-0-1 in the conference. The Cardinals are 4-1-1 and 0-0-1 after opening the season with four straight wins.

Graduate student Jaden Galluzzo (Commack) scored her fourth goal of the season for Cortland. Junior Simone Neivel (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) and freshman Julia DeTurris (Hicksville) assisted on Galluzzo's goal. Sophomore goalie Kristen Spendal (Dumont, NJ) registered two saves but had her shutout streak ended at 385:12.

Allison Seidman netted Plattsburgh's goal with Avery Durgan assisting on the score. Goalie Lauren Haley made four saves, including three in the second half.

Galluzzo gave Cortland a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute, and the advantage held up until Seidman tied the game in the 79th minute with her second goal of the season. Each team had a shot attempt blocked in the closing minutes and Neivel missed wide on a shot with 11 seconds remaining as the game ended at 1-1.
