DALLAS, PA. – The Cortland women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Misericordia University in a non-league match. The Red Dragons' record fell to 3-2 with the loss while the host Cougars improved to 2-0.
 
Cortland will host defending SUNYAC champion Oneonta in a league match Wednesday at 3 p.m.
 
Emma Madigan (Endicott/Union-Endicott) played a role in two of Cortland's three points. She teamed with Isabella Bonapace (Leonia, NJ) to win at third doubles, 8-4, and she earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory at fifth singles. Preston Fuerbacher (Fairport) won 6-3, 7-5 at sixth singles.
 
Misericordia's Brianna Pizzano and Emily Brecker won at first and second singles, respectively, and combined to win at first doubles. Lydia Barbour and Hailey Loughlin also provided two points for the Cougars with their wins at third and fourth singles, respectively, along with their victory at second doubles.
