CORTLAND, N.Y. – Four different players scored goals as the Cortland men's hockey team defeated Manhattanville, 4-1, Tuesday night in non-conference action at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons improved to 9-6-1, while the Valiants dropped to 6-8-1.

Freshman Colby Seitz (Eden/Corpus Christi IceRays) tallied a goal and an assist for Cortland. Junior Nate Berke (Buffalo/Buffalo Jr. Sabres), sophomore Anthony Bernardo (Hauppauge/P.A.L. Junior Islanders) and freshman Devlin O'Kane (Chicago, IL/New Jersey 87s) each added a goal.

Senior Nick Grupp (Depew/Brantford 99ers) and junior Jona Hildreth (Buffalo/Walpole Express) collected two assists, and junior Geordan Buffoline (Ballston Spa/Vermont Lumberjacks) and sophomore Johnny Facchini (Succasunna, NJ/P.A.L. Junior Islanders) registered one assist apiece. Junior goalie Jack Riedell (Greensboro, NC/Charlotte Rush) made 27 saves.

Senior Dylan Pollak (New Fairfield, CT/South Kent School) scored for Manhattanville with seniors Noah Bradley (Lancaster, PA/Philadelphia Revolution) and Tyler Roy (Brighton, MI/Brighton H.S.) picking up assists.Roy also registered 35 saves.

Bernardo gave Cortland a 1-0 lead 57 seconds before the end of the first period, scoring on a rebound at the right side after Roy denied a shot by Hildreth. O'Kane made it a 2-0 game at 12:22 of the second period when he knocked the puck out of midair and past Roy. Berke scored on a loose puck at the left side at 13:44 of the second period, and Cortland took a 3-0 lead into the final period.

Pollak put the Valiants on the scoreboard at the 8:02 mark of the third period, converting a breakaway after receiving a pass from Bradley from deep in the Manhattanville defensive zone. The Valiants pulled Roy for an extra skater with 1:20 remaining, but Seitz sealed the win with an empty-net goal 11 seconds later for the 4-1 final.
