#15 Cortland Suffers First Loss at Rochester, 3-2, in OT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Bella Militi scored her second goal of the game three minutes, 28 seconds into overtime to lift the Rochester field hockey team to a 3-2 victory versus nationally 15th-ranked Cortland Tuesday night in non-conference action. The loss was the first of the season for the Red Dragons as they fell to 8-1. The Yellowjackets improved to 7-4.

Junior Keirra Ettere (Mahopac/Lakeland) tallied both of the goals for Cortland. Sophomore goalie Emma Morgan (Whitney Point) registered four saves.

Anya Arseneau added a goal for Rochester. Zoe Conomikes recorded an assist. Goalie Kara Houston stopped seven shots, and Elisabeth Sidorski had a defensive save.

Ettere gave Cortland a 1-0 lead 7:28 into the game, scoring off her own rebound in front. The Red Dragons had an excellent chance to build on the lead, but Houston denied a penalty stroke at the 21:06 mark in the game. The lead held until 6:38 into the third quarter when Militi scored on a deflection in front.

Arseneau gave the Yellowjackets the lead at 48:59, scoring on a loose ball in front. Ettere sent the game into overtime at 2-2 when she deked a defender and sent a shot into the right side of the cage. In overtime, the Red Dragons registered the first two shots, but Houston stopped both attempts.
