Cortland Earns 3-2 Comeback Win at Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Cortland women's soccer team scored twice in the last six minutes of the game in defeating Oneonta, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon in a SUNYAC game. The visiting Red Dragons improved to 7-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference, while the host Red Dragons dropped to 4-2-3 and 1-2-1.

Seniors Bella Casucci (Smithtown/Smithtown West) and Simone Neivel (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) and freshman Tyla Vuotto (Lynbrook) scored Cortland's goals. Junior goalie Kristen Spendal (Dumont, NJ) was not credited with any saves.

Gianna Gritzmacher and Jianna Chapman netted the goals for Oneonta with Kayla Schwizer recording an assist. Goalie Bryanna Meehan registered three saves.

Vuotto gave Cortland a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute with her fourth goal of the season. Gritzmacher tied the game at 1-1 in the 36th minute. Chapman gave the host Red Dragons a 2-1 lead in the 68th minute off an assist from Schwizer. With time winding down, Casucci tied the game in the 85th minute with her second goal of the season, and Neivel scored the game winner on a penalty kick in the 87th minute for the 3-2 final.
