Tillotson Nets Career-High 25 Points in 79-53 Win vs. Plattsburgh

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) scored a career-high 25 points as Cortland opened its SUNYAC women's basketball schedule with a 79-53 win over visiting Plattsburgh. 
 
Tillotson hit 10-of-18 shots from the field, including a career-high five 3-pointers on 10 attempts, and also grabbed five rebounds for the Red Dragons (3-2, 1-0 SUNYAC). Logan Streety (Elma/Iroquois) tallied 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Mariah Huss (Kenmore/Sacred Heart Academy) finished with eight points, hitting 2-of-3 3-pointers, and seven rebounds. 
 
Lily Woodis (Dewittville/Chautauqua Lake) and Jackie Funk (Penfield) each scored seven points. Woodis also totaled seven rebounds and a team-high four assists, both career highs, and Funk had four rebounds. 
 
Plattsburgh (3-3, 0-1 SUNYAC) was led by Imani Walcott with 20 points and 11 rebounds. She made 11-of-17 field goals. Julia Greek scored 10 points and Payton Couture pulled down eight rebounds. 
 
Cortland made 13-of-39 shots from the 3-point arc and shot 43 percent overall from the floor. Plattsburgh shot 37 percent overall but only 19 percent (3-of-16) from the arc. 
 
Cortland led 22-17 after one quarter, behind 10 points from Tillotson, and a 9-2 run over the final three and a half minutes of the second quarter gave the Red Dragons a 42-31 halftime lead. Cortland increased its lead to 61-44 after three quarters, with Tillotson scoring 10 points in the period. Plattsburgh got back to within 61-49 two minutes into the fourth but got no closer. Cortland scored the last 11 points to create the final 26-point margin. 
 
Cortland hosts Potsdam Saturday at 2 p.m.
