Red Dragons Post Convincing 85-46 Win vs. Potsdam

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Four Cortland players scored in double figures, led by Logan Streety's (Elma/Iroquois) 21 points, as the Red Dragons defeated visiting Potsdam, 85-46, in SUNYAC women's basketball action. 
 
Streety finished 10-for-13 from the floor and grabbed five rebounds for Cortland (4-2, 2-0 SUNYAC). Lily Woodis (Dewittville/Chautauqua Lake) finished with 13 points and four steals, Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) had 12 points and four assists, and Brianna Cinque (Staten Island/Tottenville) hit 5-of-6 shots in a 10-point effort. 
 
Mariah Huss (Kenmore/Sacred Heart Academy) led Cortland with five steals and handed out three assists. Sophie Bissaillon (East Greenbush/Columbia) scored five points and led the Red Dragons with six rebounds. Abby Wilkinson (Cato/Bishop Grimes), Kaeli McAnally (Islip) and Jackie Funk (Penfield) each finished with three assists. 
 
Jakia Howard registered 14 points and 16 rebounds for Potsdam, which fell to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in the league. Xy'El Bradford scored nine points and Carley Hill finished with eight points. 
 
Cortland shot 56 percent from the floor overall and 47 percent (7-for-15) from 3-point territory. The Red Dragons also took advantage of 30 Potsdam turnovers, 19 of which resulted from Cortland steals, to hold a 31-13 advantage in points-off-turnovers. Potsdam was limited to 33 percent shooting overall and 25 percent (3-for-12) from the arc. 
 
Cortland never trailed, but the game was tied at 15-15 with 7:26 left in the second quarter before the Red Dragons tallied eight straight points to take a 23-15 lead. Cortland led 35-21 at halftime and 63-37 after three quarters on its way to the rout. 
 
Cortland will play a non-league game at St. John Fisher next Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.
