OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Stevenson men's hockey team scored five consecutive goals spanning the second and third periods in defeating Cortland, 7-4, Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Oswego Hockey Classic. The Red Dragons dropped to 9-3, while the Mustangs improved to 9-3-1.
Junior
Johnny Facchini (Succasunna, NJ/P.A.L. Junior Islanders) led Cortland with a goal and an assist. Seniors
Nate Berke (Williamsville/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and
Geordan Buffoline (Ballston Spa/Vermont Lumberjacks) and freshman
Robert Hyde (North Babylon/New Jersey Titans) each added a goal, while sophomore
Colby Seitz (Eden/Corpus Christi IceRays) collected two assists and senior
John Kuhl (Essex Fells, NJ/Boston Jr. Rangers), junior

Senior
Jack Riedell (Greensboro, NC/Charlotte Rush) started in goal for the Red Dragons, making 38 saves in 50:06 before giving way to sophomore
Ronan Mobley (Playa Del Rey, CA/New Hampshire Avalanche) who stopped four shots in 9:54.
John Musella led Stevenson with three goals and an assist. Brendan Rylott also tallied four points on a goal and three assists. Nick Dineen recorded a goal and an assist, and Blake Benson and Liam McCanney each scored a goal. Matt Yeager contributed three assists, while Zach Egber and Malcolm Palmer registered an assist. Goalie Ty Outen stopped 36 shots.
Cortland faces the loser of Oswego versus Concordia, and Stevenson takes on the winner of that game on Sunday. Whatever the outcome of the Oswego and Concordia game, the Lakers play at 4 p.m.
