FREDONIA, N.Y. – Junior
Toni Cashman (East Moriches/Westhampton Beach) tallied five goals and added an assist to lead the nationally 21st-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team to a 17-3 victory at Fredonia Friday afternoon in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons raised their record to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference. The Blue Devils fell to 5-8 and 0-5.
With her five goals, Cashman became the 33rd player in program history to reach 100 career goals (103), joining teammate
Hannah Keech (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) who hit the mark the previous game. Graduate student
Lauren Hopsicker (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) also hit a milestone as she surpassed 100 career points in two seasons with the Red Dragons on two goals and two assists to push her numbers to 102 points on 62 goals and 40 assists.

Margaret Morgan (New Fairfield, CT) stopped three shots for the Red Dragons. Graduate student
Amanda Squillini (Stony Point/North Rockland) collected four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Hoeffner won eight draw controls, and Czyz secured five draws.
Erin Woods, Sydney Buchko and Julie Culver scored the goals for Fredonia. Goalie Emily Carr registered 20 saves. Buchko and Sarah Guariglia each scooped up two ground balls.
The Red Dragons took control of the game with a five-goal run late in the first quarter to build a 6-0 lead through 15 minutes. The lead grew to 12-0 at the half. Cashman netted all five of her goals before the break, and Keech score twice. Czyz made it a 13-0 score early in the third quarter before Woods ended Fredonia's scoring drought at the 10:58 mark of the quarter. The goal by Woods ended a scoreless streak posted by Cortland's defense that stretched 72:02 going back to their last game versus Oneonta.
Hopsicker closed the third quarter with a goal to make it a 14-1 score heading to the final 15 minutes. Beck scored twice and Hopsicker added another goal for Cortland, while Culver and Buchko each scored for the Blue Devils in the fourth quarter for the 17-3 final.
