CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior
Troy Morris (Long Beach) scored six points on five goals and one assist to lead Cortland to a come-from-behind 20-10 victory versus Oswego Wednesday afternoon in the semifinals of the SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. With the win, the Red Dragons (13-4) advanced to the championship game at top-seeded Geneseo on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the winner earning an automatic NCAA Div. III playoff berth.
With his five goals, Morris became the 19th player in program history to surpass 100 career goals, bringing his total to 101.

Matt Stento (Bethlehem) stopped seven shots and collected four ground balls for the Red Dragons. Cortland won 23-of-34 faceoffs in the game, led by sophomore
Rich Finn (LaGrange/Arlington) who won 14-of-16. Ten different players caused a turnover, sophomore
Alex Thrasher (Vestal) scooped up seven ground balls and sophomore
Owen Neubauer (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) secured four ground balls.
Senior Jack DeLany (Camillus/West Genesee) doubled his goal output for the season, netting a game-high six for the Lakers. Junior Gavin Elston (Horseheads) recorded a goal and two assists. Junior Liam Sexton (Camillus/West Genesee) and freshmen Trey Jones (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) and Hayden Coney (Watertown/General Brown) each scored a goal, while sophomore Corey O'Connor (Watertown/General Brown) and freshman Logan Prescott (Lancaster) collected two assists apiece.
Senior goalie Aidan Kenyon (Canandaigua/Canandaigua Academy) registered 17 saves for Oswego. Prescott won 11 faceoffs and secured four ground balls, senior Evan Coleman (Horseheads) scooped up four ground balls, junior Cameron Yost (Victor) totaled three ground balls and sophomore Connor Aspinal (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
The Lakers jumped on Cortland early, building a 5-1 lead nine minutes into the game as DeLany netted four of his goals. The Red Dragons pulled to within 6-3 at the end of the first quarter and outscored Oswego, 7-1, in the second quarter to take a 10-7 lead at the break. Six different players scored goals for Cortland in the quarter.
The Red Dragons started to pull away, going ahead 14-9 after three quarters. Morris scored twice, with his goal at the 1:41 mark of the quarter being his 100th, and Yacavone and Scanlon each netted a goal, while DeLany scored both of Oswego's goals. The Red Dragons took control with the first five goals of the fourth quarter from five different players before Elston and Amato traded late goals for the 20-10 final.
