Emma Bogdanowicz-Wilson was part of Cortland's winning 200-yard medley relay and finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Cortland women's swimming and diving team registered 11 individual first-place finishes along with the top times in both relays as the Red Dragons defeated host New Paltz, 153-102, in dual-meet action.
Four Red Dragons posted two individual victories each on the afternoon.
Leah Bernhardt (Groton) won the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:12.01) and 500-yard freestyle (5:32.95) and Areianna Martinez-Reyes (Queens/Benjamin Cardozo) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.82) and 100-yard butterfly (1:02.30).
Ella Garrow (Peru) captured the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.57) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.94) and
Madi Monaghan (Chili/Gates Chili) won the 100-yard freestyle (57.32) and 200-yard individual medley (2:24.31), the latter as an exhibition entry due to the team score.
Julia Bryce (Rochester/School of the Arts) won the 200-yard butterfly (2:24.31) and was second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:28.32).
Alayna Miller (Hilton) won the 50-yard freestyle (25.58) and
Emily Lantry (Helena/St. Lawrence) was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.99).
The foursome of Lantry,
Emma Bogdanowicz-Wilson (Schenectady), Miller and Bryce won the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.89), while Bryce,
Mackenzie Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central), Lantry and Miller, as an exhibition entry, finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:45.87). In addition, Bogdanowicz-Wilson placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:37.86).
There was no diving competition at the meet since New Paltz's facility doesn't include a diving area.
