UTICA, N.Y. - The Cortland women's tennis team improved its record to 4-3 with a 7-0 non-league win at Utica University. The Red Dragons dominated the match, losing only a combined 11 games between doubles and singles action.

Cortland earned the doubles team point with a sweep of the three flights.
Christina Massoni (West Babylon) and
Emma Madigan (Endicott/Union-Endicott) won 6-0 at first doubles,
Mary Repass (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and
Alexandra Thut (Poughquag/Arlington) earned a 6-1 win at second doubles, and
Preston Fuerbacher (Fairport) and
JayLynn Robinson (Evans Mills/Indian River) won 6-0 at third doubles.

In singles play, Massoni won 6-2, 6-0 at number one and Repass was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at number two. Madigan registered a 6-1, 6-0 win on the third flight and
Hannah Green (Endwell/Maine-Endwell) won 6-1, 6-1 at number four. Fuerbacher was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at fifth singles, and
Gabriella Stanley (Buffalo/Niagara-Wheatfield) went untouched in a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles.

Cortland closes the week, and the fall regular season, with three SUNYAC matches at a neutral site, the Binghamton Tennis Center. Cortland faces Oneonta Thursday at noon, Plattsburgh Friday at 3 p.m. and New Paltz Saturday at noon. Cortland is currently 1-1 in league play, and four of the league's six teams will qualify for next spring's conference tournament.
