MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Three different players scored goals for the Red Dragons as the nationally 21st-ranked Cortland men's soccer team earned a 3-0 victory on the road at Morrisville on Saturday evening. Cortland improves to 11-3-3 (5-1-1 SUNYAC), while Morrisville drops to 3-6-4 (0-4-2 SUNYAC) with the defeat.

Yasin Choukri (Wilton, CT), Alex Lessman (Plainview/Plainview-Old Bethpage), and Matt Shultz (Oneonta) each scored for Cortland, with Matias Valenzuela Matic (Santiago, Chile/Northwood School) registering an assist. Shultz's goal also gives him 90 career points to tie with Mike Borra for the Cortland all-time program record. The Cortland defense held Morrisville without a shot on goal, and Jordan Ott (Fort Worth, TX/Southwest Christian) supervised his third consecutive shutout.
Ronaldo Fatolou made six saves in goal for the Mustangs.

The Red Dragons came out firing, forcing Fatolou to make four saves in the opening 10 minutes.

Cortland broke through in the 13th minute as the result of some impressive passing. Cade Denlinger (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown Area) sent a pass to Logan Comfort (Cazenovia), who quickly flipped a first-touch over the top of the Morrisville defense to Choukri, who then rifled a shot off of Fatolou and inside the left post.

Cortland doubled its advantage in the 43rd minute, as Lessman got his head to a cross off of Valenzuela Matic's corner kick. The graduate student directed his header into the top left corner of the net for a 2-0 halftime lead for Cortland.

In the 63rd minute, Shultz gave the Red Dragons a 3-0 lead after intercepting a clearance attempt in front of goal. The senior flicked the ball up to himself and then sent a right-footed volley into the top left corner.

Morrisville had to play the final 18 minutes down a player after a red card in the 72nd minute, allowing the Red Dragons to control play and secure the shutout victory.
