Corrigan Scores Twice as #11 Red Dragons Blank Host William Smith, 2-0

GENEVA, N.Y. – Hanna Corrigan (Barneveld/Holland Patent) scored a pair of goals and Emma Morgan (Whitney Point) made two saves for the shutout as nationally 11th-ranked Cortland remained unbeaten with a 2-0 win at William Smith.

Corrigan gave Cortland (7-0) the lead with 1:15 left in the first half. A long pass was sent into the circle, and Corrigan and William Smith goalie Baker Jeremiah arrived at the ball at about the same time. Jeremiah was able to kick the ball aside, but Corrigan chased it down and then scored from the right side off a sharp angle.

The Red Dragons notched an insurance goal with 10:20 left in the game. Off a penalty corner, Jamie Snyder (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) inserted a ball that Corrigan controlled at the top of the circle. She took a quick dribble into the circle and blasted home a shot to put Cortland up 2-0.

Jeremiah finished with two saves and Caroline Kogut had a defensive save for William Smith (3-4). The Herons and the Red Dragons each finished with nine shot and William Smith earned six penalty corners to Cortland's three.
