Arcuri, Austin and Wilson Hit Career Scoring Highs in 81-66 Win vs. Canton

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Kendall Arcuri (Staten Island/St. Joseph by-the-Sea) matched his career high with 28 points and Isaiah Austin (Albany) and Kendrick Wilson (Wheatley Heights/Moravian Prep (NC)) posted career scoring highs with 16 and 13 points, respectively, as Cortland defeated visiting Canton, 81-66, in a SUNYAC men's basketball matchup.
 
Cortland improved to 3-1 in the SUNYAC and 4-7 overall. The Red Dragons will host Oswego Saturday at 4 p.m.
 
Arcuri finished 9-of-14 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from the 3-point arc, and hit 7-of-11 free throws. He added six rebounds and a team-high three assists. Austin made three 3-pointers in his 16-point effort and tied his career best with seven rebounds. Wilson went 4-for-5 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line in his 13-point performance.
 
Joel Davis (Watertown) led Cortland with eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals and scored seven points on 3-of-4 shooting. Pierre Hajjar (Brussels, Belgium/Victory Rock Prep) made two treys and finished with eight points.
 
Nate Cohen paced four double-figure scorers for Canton (0-10, 0-3 SUNYAC) with 14 points. He also had four steals and two assists. Kevin Goode Jr. scored 12 points and Bryon Streb and Malaki Smith scored 11 points each. Streb finished with eight rebounds and three assists and Eli Larson totaled eight points and a team-best nine rebounds.
 
Cortland shot 54 percent from the field in each half. The Red Dragons made 8-of-13 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes to take a 43-30 halftime lead. Canton shot 39 percent in each half and was 5-of-16 from the 3-point arc. The Red Dragons led by as many as 20 points in the second half and held at least a 12-point advantage the final 15 minutes.
