CORTLAND, NY – Visiting Nazareth scored three goals in the third period for a 5-4 victory over the Cortland men's hockey team, ranked 13th nationally by USCHO and ninth nationally by DIII Hockey News, on Friday evening at Alumni Arena. Cortland falls to 8-4 on the season, while Nazareth is now 6-4-2.
Nate Berke (Williamsville/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) scored a goal and added an assist for the Red Dragons.
Colby Seitz (Eden/Corpus Christi Ice Rays),
Conor Humphrey (Penfield/Rochester Jr. Americans), and
Nathan Garnier (Laval, QC/Cornwall Colts) each netted one goal.
Stephen Kyrkostas (Selden/Johnstown Tomahawks) provided two assists, and five other players had one assist:
Justin Legault (Oakville, ON/ Burlington Cougars),
Dino Mannetta (Wading River/P.A.L. Jr. Islanders),
Matthew DeSpirt (Hamburg/Northeast Generals),
Johnny Facchini (Succasunna, NJ/P.A.L. Jr. Islanders), and

Ronan Mobley (Playa Del Ray, CA/New Hampshire Avalanche) stopped 26 shots in goal.
Anthony Quinlivan scored two goals for the Golden Flyers, and Dylan Weimer saved 27 shots in goal for Nazareth.
Cortland opened the scoring 7:28 into the opening period, as Berke connected on a one-timer from just above the goal line after a pass from the blue line by Mannetta. Quinlivan tied the game up in the final five minutes of the frame, knocking in his own rebound.
With three minutes left in the period, Seitz connected on a bouncing puck pass from Facchini from the right side to re-establish Cortland's lead at the intermission.
Just 22 seconds into the second period, Nazareth committed a slashing penalty that led to another Cortland goal. Less than a minute later, Humphrey fired a shot from the right side that deflected off of a Nazareth defender and past Weimer.
Quinlivan's second goal of the game brought the Golden Flyers to within a goal at 3-2, before Garnier tapped in a shot at the back post after a perfect feed from Kyrkostas with just over eight minutes left in the period.
Nazareth scored three times in the third period to turn around the deficit. The first goal came just 1:04 into the period after a turnover behind the Cortland goal. The Golden Flyers then tied the score at 4-4 with a power-play goal just eight seconds after the Cortland penalty began.
Daisuke Egusa then scored the game-winning goal just past the midway point of the period at the back post.
Cortland upped the pressure in the final minutes looking for an equalizer, and came within inches of tying the score when Kyrkostas fired a shot off the crossbar. The Red Dragons pulled the goaltender in the final two minutes, but Weimer made multiple superb saves to preserve the Nazareth lead.
