TROY, N.Y. - The Cortland women's swimming and diving team finished third at the RPI Kumpf Invitational. RPI won the title with 562.5 points, followed by Ithaca (532), Cortland (392), Skidmore (321) and William Smith (158.5).

Leah Bernhardt (Groton) won two events at the meet, capturing both the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:51.61) and 500-yard freestyle (5:15.64).
Kaila O'Hara (East Islip) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.61) and
Morgan Hannon (Hyde Park/Franklin D. Roosevelt) placed third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.55).

Alayna Miller (Hilton) finished in fifth place in the 50-yard freestyle (25.99) and
Ella Garrow (Peru) was fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.90). In diving action,
Megan McLaughlin (Avon) finished fifth on the 1-meter board (206.25 points) and
Alyssa Haberlack (Long Beach) was fifth on the 3-meter board (220.90 points).

The relays at the invitational were conducted as "mixed" relays with two men and two women on the same team, with both teams earning the points for the finish. In the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay, Miller and
Erin Galligan (Rochester/Our Lady of Mercy) teamed with
Dylan Anselment (Glens Falls) and
Jack Clark (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) to finish in third place in 1:34.89. In addition,
Emily Lantry (Helena/St. Lawrence) tied for sixth place in the 200-yard backstroke (2:20.86).

Cortland will send competitors to the Hobart/William Smith Diving Invitational on Sunday, and the entire team returns to action next Friday, Jan. 24, when it hosts Oneonta at 4 p.m. for the final home meet of the season.
