CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland men's swimming and diving team finished in first place out of five schools at the two-day Snow Flurries Invitational, hosted by the Red Dragons Friday and Saturday at Holsten Pool.
Cortland finished with 1,118.5 points, followed by Oneonta with 642.5, New Paltz with 632, Potsdam with 280 and Delhi with 213.
Jacob Cerrato (Beekman/Arlington) won the 500-yard freestyle (4:51.90) and 200-yard freestyle (1:49.21), and
Kevin Kohlhoff (West Islip) was victorious in both 3-meter diving (465.83 points) and 1-meter diving (470.25 points) to lead the Red Dragons. Cerrato also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.65).
Five other Cortland swimmers each won an individual event.
Colin Veit (Port Jefferson/Earl L. Vandermeulen) was the 50-yard freestyle winner (22.06) and finished second in the 400-yard IM (4:24.91).
Kellen Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central) won the 100-yard breaststroke (59.64) and was second in the 200-yard IM (2:01.96), and
Eliseo Fernandez (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) was the 200-yard backstroke champion (1:59.01) and placed second in the 100-yard butterfly (54.14).
Jack Clark (Rocheste/Aquinas Institute) was the winner in the 100-yard freestyle (49.44) and the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle (22.09).
Aiden Ramirez (Suffern) earned top honors in the 100-yard backstroke (58.49).
Darius Sargent (Holland Patent) was runner-up in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.29) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.64).
James DuTremble (Pleasantville/Briarcliff) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.70),
Liam Byrons (Skaneateles) was second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:50.09), and
Dylan Monaco (Lynbrook) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.42).
Kensington Wilck (Newark) finished second in 3-meter diving (309.53 points).
