Cortland women's basketball players
Brooke Tillotson (Marathon),
Kayla Campbell (Franklin/Franklin Central),
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) and
Bella Zingoni (Kings Park/Long Island Lutheran), and men's basketball player
Gaige Armbrewster (Oakfield/Oakfield-Alabama), have earned 2025 Division III Academic All-District honors for District 3.
The all-district teams are selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). In Division III, District 3 encompasses all schools in New York State. Recipients must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and meet certain requirements in terms of contests competed in and athletic accomplishments.
Tillotson is a junior biology major with a 3.90 cumulative GPA prior to the spring semester. She started all 29 games this season and averaged eight points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She was named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team.
Campbell is a sophomore athletically (junior academically) majoring in inclusive childhood education. She had a 4.0 GPA at Cortland last fall and had a 3.78 GPA in two prior years at Daemen University. The SUNYAC Co-Player of the Year and a D3hoops.com second-team all-region selection, Campbell averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game in 29 starts. She was a SUNYAC All-Tournament Team honoree.
Lusk is a sophomore exercise science major with a 3.94 GPA at Cortland last fall and a 4.0 GPA last year at St. John Fisher University. Lusk started all 29 games this season and averaged 10.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. She was a third-team All-SUNYAC selection.
Zingoni is a sophomore exercise science major with a 3.65 GPA entering the spring semester. In 29 contests, she averaged 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game and shot 47 percent from the field.
Armbrewster is a junior physical education major with a 3.50 GPA prior to the spring semester. He appeared in 28 games this season, 21 as a starter, and averaged 3.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
Cortland's women finished 25-4 overall and 17-1 in SUNYAC play. The Red Dragons won both the SUNYAC regular-season and postseason titles and made their fourth NCAA tournament appearance in five years. Cortland beat Endicott in the NCAA opening round before losing at Bowdoin in the second round to tie for 17th place nationally.
Cortland's men finished the season 17-12, including a 15-5 record over its final 20 games. The Red Dragons tied for second in the SUNYAC regular season with a 13-5 mark and, as the third seed in the SUNYAC tournament won three games to earn the program's first NCAA berth since 2016. Cortland lost to nationally second-ranked and eventual national runner-up NYU in the opening round.
