ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Cortland trailed after doubles play but the Red Dragons posted wins in four of the six singles matches to squeak past St. John Fisher, 4-3, in a non-league dual match at the Midtown Athletic Club.

St. John Fisher (0-1) earned the doubles team point after wins by Lily Miller and Tiana Buttino, 6-4, at the second flight and by Adriana Colafranceschi and Isabella Busch, 6-3, at the third flight. Cortland (2-2) won at first doubles as
Christina Massoni (West Babylon) and
Lisa Schulz (Monchengladbach, Germany) won, 6-3.

The Red Dragons needed four singles victories for the team win and they got them. Schulz won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles and Massoni was a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 winner at second singles.
Mary Repass (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) won at fourth singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), and
Alexandra Thut (Poughquag/Arlington) posted a 7-5, 6-1 win at fifth singles. Fisher's singles wins came via Lily Miller at number three, 4-6, 6-0, 6-1, and Anna Exford at number six, 6-3, 6-4.

Cortland returns to action next Friday at 3 p.m. as its opens SUNYAC play at home against defending champion New Paltz.
