CANTON, NY – The Cortland women's soccer team scored four first-half goals and cruised to a 4-0 victory at St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon. Cortland improves to 4-2-1, while St. Lawrence falls to 3-2-2.

Tyla Vuotto (Lynbrook) each had a goal and an assist to lead the Red Dragons.
Reese Edwards (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) and
Dana Scruggs (Bethpage) recorded their first collegiate goals, while
Leah Rehm (East Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) provided an assist.
Olivia Rouse (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) made six saves in 82:02 in goal, while
Rebecca Nazer (Woodstock, CT/Woodstock Academy) made one save over the final 7:58, to combine for Cortland's second straight shutout.
Seven different Saints had a shot on goal, while Zoe Davenport made three saves in goal for St. Lawrence.
Cortland got the scoring started in the eighth minute of the contest. Rehm collected the ball down the right sideline, dribbled around a defender, and sent a low cross towards the middle of the field. Klammer was able to connect on the bouncing ball, driving a shot into the bottom right corner of the net for her first goal of the season.
It didn't take long for the Red Dragons to double their advantage.
Maia Allard (Castleton/Columbia) lobbed a pass from near midfield to the edge of the 18-yard area, where
Gianna Cirilla (Pattersonville/Schalmont) was first to react and flicked the ball towards goal. The ball bounced off a defender and straight down to Vuotto, who struck a low shot off the goalkeeper's hands and into the bottom left corner of the net in the 13th minute.
Cortland added two more goals in the span of just over two minutes late in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.
In the 39th minute,
Nyah Sinkler (Farmingville/Sachem East) floated a ball over the top of the defense that was kicked down by Vuotto, and then curled off the goalkeeper and into the net by Edwards for her first career goal.
In the 41st minute, Klammer delivered a cross from down the left sideline outside the 18-yard area over to the right edge of the box, where Scruggs outjumped a defender and headed the ball into the left side of the goal.
Cortland nearly made it a five-goal advantage in the 51st minute, but a shot by Rehm went off of the crossbar and stayed out of the goal. Rouse also made a pair of saves in the first 15 minutes of the second half to keep the Saints off the scoreboard.
The Saints were able to prevent Cortland from registering a shot on target over the final 30 minutes of the contest, but the Red Dragon defense allowed just two shots on goal during that time, and Rouse and Nazer each were able to make one more save to secure the shutout.
