ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Cortland women's tennis team opened its 2025-26 season with a 6-1 dual-match loss to Hartwick College at Wilber Park in Oneonta. The Red Dragons will host Utica University in a dual match Sunday at noon.

Cortland's point came at second singles as
Lisa Schulz (Monchengladbach, Germany) won 6-3, 6-4.
Anneli Adams (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) lost a tight battle at sixth singles to Elise Beauharnois. She won the first set, 6-2, and lost the second set, 6-2. With the team winner already decided, a super tiebreaker to 10 points was played instead of a third set and Beauharnois won, 10-8.

Hartwick (2-0) picked up a team point after sweeping the three doubles matches. Phoebe Olson and Gianna Leggieri won at first doubles, Samantha Lantzy and Lily Vanuga won at second doubles and Maggie Van Valkenburgh and Maddi Morrison were victorious at third doubles.
