BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo St. men's hockey team scored three third-period goals to break a 3-3 tie and defeated Cortland, 6-3, Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Bengals improved to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference, while the Red Dragons dropped to 3-4 and 1-3.

Mike Crowley (Buffalo/Springfield Blues) led Cortland with a goal and an assist. Junior
Sean Perichak (Oakville, ON/Markham Royals) and sophomore
Tom Ritchie (Spencerport/New York PAL Islanders) each added a goal. Junior
Douglas Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden/New Jersey Rockets), sophomore
Cole Skelly (Mt. Arlington, NJ/Binghamton Jr. Senators) and freshmen
Shane Beaulieu (Brooklin, ON/Powassan VooDoos) and
Jacob Gaydos (Sandusky, OH/Wisconsin Rapid Riverkings) collected one assist apiece. Junior goalie
Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) stopped 21 shots.
Mac Wood recorded a hat trick for Buffalo St. Andrew Husted, Vadim Vasjonkin and Andrew Logar each netted a goal. Michael Guerrera, Cody Symonds, Jon Colley and Zach Remers registered two assists apiece. Goalie Connor Minch made 20 saves.
Logar and Crowley each scored in the first period. Wood netted his first of the night on the power play at 4:09 of the second. Perichak and Ritchie then scored at 5:02 and 6:36, respectively, to give Cortland its only lead of the night at 3-2. Wood's second goal at 8:34 sent the game to the third period tied at 3-3.
Husted tallied the game-winning goal just 1:33 into the third period. Wood followed with his third goal at 10:48, and Vasjonkin completed the scoring at 11:56 for the 6-3 final.
