Hello Red Dragons!

The SUNYAC conference has been highlighting fall sport senior student-athletes who have had their seasons disrupted – three Red Dragons have been mentioned so far: Richard Samuels (which is a bit of a longer profile), Sam Himes, and Ryan Behre. Sam's case is a little unusual in that she is graduating a semester early – a fantastic achievement – which means she is not going to compete for the Red Dragons again.

Our Alumni Affairs Office has taken the Red Dragon Run (an event which sprung from the hearts and minds of two incredible alumnae, and that so many of you participated in) and turned it into a series! From May 17 to 30, 2020, 359 alumni, students, family and friends laced up their sneakers, donating $5,275 to support the Student Emergency Fund. Next up is the Run for Equity and Inclusion!

Register today for The Run for Equity and Inclusion and complete your race anytime from Oct.12 to 23, 2020. Enter your time on the Post-Race Form for a chance to win prizes for best times in the race divisions.

Not feeling competitive? Make sure you check out the fun categories like best Cortland spirit. Please share the reason you run with us through social media (Use #RedDragonRun) and printable bibs.

Registration
Race participants are asked to make a suggested donation to the Cortland Fund for Equity and Inclusion, which supports training and education opportunities, attracts recognized speakers and furthers our commitment to an engaging and inclusive environment. The suggested amount is $20 for alumni, family and friends; $5 for students. To date, more than $17,000 has been raised! Your gift will support key initiatives set by the Institutional Equity and Inclusion Office. The Cortland College Foundation has committed to match each gift, dollar for dollar, up to the first $25,000 that has been donated.

Please register by noon on Oct. 23. Race results must be submitted by midnight on Oct. 23 to be eligible for prizes. You can always cheer on your Red Dragon friends who have registered.
