GENESEO, N.Y. – The Cortland men's and women's swimming and diving teams lost dual meets at Geneseo, with the men falling, 194-70, and the women coming up short, 191-78. The Red Dragon teams had a good portion of their roster unable to compete at the meet due to general illness.
For the men,
Sean Zupko (Montgomery/Valley Central) won the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.57) and was third in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:21.35), while
Jack-Henry Whalen (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown) was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.67) and third in the 100-yard butterfly (53.49).
Jack Pagel (Cortlandt Manor/Walter Panas) finished third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.65) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.63).
On the women's side,
Taylor Williams (Slate Hill/Minisink Valley) won both diving events. She recorded a score of 264.00 points on the 1-meter board and 261.65 points on the 3-meter board.
Kailyn Anselment (Queensbury/Glens Falls) was third in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:35.75) and 500-yard freestyle (5:42.17),
Emily Lantry (Massena/St. Lawrence) placed third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:21.53), and
Mackenzie Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central) was third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.28).
The Red Dragons return to action on Dec. 3-4 when they host the Cortland Snowflurries Invitational at Holsten Pool.
