Cortland Men Spread the Wealth in Home Dual Win vs. Oswego

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland earned first-place points from 11 different individuals on the way to a 181-87 men's swimming and diving dual-meet victory over visiting Oswego. 
 
The Red Dragons opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay by Sean Zupko (Montgomery/Valley Central), Hunter Sugrue-Neuendorf (Valley Cottage/Nyack), Kellen Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central) and Sam Zani (Irondequoit) in 1:40.97, with Zani posting a 21.10 split on the anchor 50-yard freestyle leg. 
 
Mason Rowlands (Campbell Hall/Washingtonville) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.50), Sugrue-Neuendorf won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.59) and Ethan Domanico (New Windsor/Newburgh Free Academy) was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.26). Jack Clark (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) won the 50-yard freestyle (22.75) and Hunter Bernhardt (Groton) took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle (51.31). 
 
Jack Pagel (Cortlandt Manor/Walter Panas) was the 200-yard backstroke winner (2:10.64), Dickman won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.33), Zupko won the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.59) and Jake Bogen (Poughkeepsie/Spackenkill) captured the 100-yard butterfly (56.96). In the diving events there were no Oswego entries. Lance Meeson (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) won the 3-meter event (270.55 points) and Kaz Kadota-Browner (Jericho) won the 1-meter event (270.05 points). 
 
In addition, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Dickman, Rowlands, Sugrue-Neuendorf and Dylan Anselment (Glens Falls) turned in the fastest time of 1:30.06 as an exhibition entry due to the team score. 
 
Cortland swept the top three spots in the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. Zupko finished second in the 200 free (1:51.60), followed by Patrick Kivlehan (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) in third (1:56.40). In the 100 free, Sugrue-Neuendorf placed second (51.77) and Anselment was third (51.84), while in the 500 free Dylan Monaco (Lynbrook ) was second (5:06.02) and Euan Barclay (Groton) finished third (5:18.15). 
 
Anselment placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.84), Bogen was second in the 100-yard backstroke (58.32) and Clark finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.41). Michael Tomasino (Lake Grove/Sachem North) was second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.29), Makiah Poli (Cortland/Home schooled) was second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.91).
