CORTLAND, N.Y. –
Jackie Funk (Penfield) scored a career-high 19 points as Cortland remained unbeaten in SUNYAC play with a 67-53 women's basketball victory over visiting Canton.
Cortland (9-2, 4-0 SUNYAC) will host Oswego Saturday at 2 p.m.
Funk made 6-of-11 shots, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and sank all four of her free throws. She also grabbed four rebounds and handed out three assists.
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) and
Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) scored 10 points apiece. Lusk led the Red Dragons with eight rebounds and also had three assists, two blocks and two steals. Tillotson pulled in five rebounds and led the team with three steals.

Kayla Campbell (Franklin/Franklin Central) finished with eight points, six rebounds and a team-high four assists and
Bella Zingoni (Kings Park/Long Island Lutheran) had eight points and four rebounds.
Mariah Huss (Buffalo/Sacred Heart Academy) chipped in with four rebounds and three assists.
Natalie Bartle led Canton (5-4, 1-2 SUNYAC) with 21 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. She was 6-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the foul line. Sierra Pabo scored 12 points.
Canton's only lead of the game came on a basket in the game's first 40 seconds. Cortland took a 5-2 lead on a Funk 3-pointer with 8:14 left in the first and the Red Dragons eventually built a 19-12 lead after one quarter. Cortland led 34-22 at halftime and by as many as 23 points in the third quarter. The visiting Roos fought back to as close as 10 points at 61-51 on a Pabo jumper in the paint with 2:10 left, but Funk's two free throws and a Tillotson layup put the game out of reach.
Cortland shot 43 percent from the field and 93 percent (14-of-15) from the foul line. Canton finished at 36 percent from the floor but only 59 percent (13-of-22) at the charity stripe.
