ONEONTA, N.Y. - Cortland women's basketball head coach
Colleen Ames earned her 100th career victory, including 30 with the Red Dragons, as Cortland defeated host Oneonta, 50-43, in SUNYAC women's basketball action.

Ames won 63 games as the head coach at Mount Saint Mary College (N.Y.) from 2019-23 and seven games as interim head coach at Clarkson during the 2018-19 season in addition to her 18 wins in her debut season with the Red Dragons last winter and 12 victories so far this season.

Kayla Campbell (Franklin/Franklin Central) led Cortland (12-3, 7-1 SUNYAC) with 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting. She also recorded six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.
Jackie Funk (Penfield) made three 3-pointer and ended with 13 points and
Kaeli McAnally (Islip) narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds along with three assists.
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) totaled six rebounds and three steals and
Mariah Huss (Buffalo/Sacred Heart Academy) grabbed five rebounds.

Amanda Zuntag finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Oneonta (6-8, 3-4 SUNYAC). Emma Schwarzbeck posted eight points and five rebounds and Megan Desrats distributed seven assists and pulled down five rebounds.

Cortland led 17-11 after one quarter and still held the lead at halftime, 20-19, despite being limited to three points in the quarter. Cortland scored the first seven points of the third quarter on a McAnally 3-pointer and two Campbell layups to go up 27-19, but Oneonta came back and trailed by only two, 34-32, after a Schwarzbeck 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the period.

Oneonta tied the game at 36-36 on Molly Coyne's layup with 8:49 remaining before Huss and Funk drained 3-pointers to put Cortland ahead by six. Cortland was clinging to a 46-43 lead after Zuntag scored with 1:12 left.
Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) sank two free throws with 51 seconds left to make it a 5-point game and, after two Oneonta missed shots, McAnally hit a foul shot to push the lead to six. Oneonta missed a 3-pointer on its next possession and Huss sealed the win with a free throw with 26 seconds left.
