Kayla Campbell (Franklin/Franklin Central) scored 20 of her career-high 29 points in the second half as the Cortland women's basketball team pulled away for a 74-44 win at Potsdam in SUNYAC action.

Cortland remains in first place in the SUNYAC with an 11-1 league record and is now 16-3 overall.

Campbell made 11-of-19 shots from the field, including 3-of-5 3-pointers, and was 4-of-6 from the foul line. She also finished with five rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Jackie Funk (Penfield) connected on 6-of-9 shots and ended with 17 points and
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) registered nine points, six rebounds and two blocks.

Kaeli McAnally (Islip) led the Red Dragons with four assists and grabbed five rebounds,
Mariah Huss (Buffalo/Sacred Heart Academy) and
Sophie Bissaillon (East Greenbush/Columbia) each added three assists and
Bella Zingoni (Kings Park/Long Island Lutheran) recorded five rebounds and three steals.

Jenna Cotter was the lone double-figure scorer for Potsdam (8-11, 4-8 SUNYAC) with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting and she also led the Bears with seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Barbara Bruno scored eight points.

Cortland led 18-10 after one quarter and 28-19 at halftime. Potsdam still trailed by nine at 40-31 with three and a half minutes left in the third before Cortland closed the period on a 12-3 run. Campbell scored 14 points in the third quarter and added six more in the fourth as the Red Dragons held a lead of at least 20 points for the last 9:46.

Cortland shot 55 percent in the second half and finished at 46 percent. Potsdam shot 26 percent in the first half and 57 percent in the second, but the Bears only attempted 14 field goals over the final two quarters and they 13 of their 24 turnovers after halftime. Cortland held a 19-7 advantage in points off of turnovers, giving away the ball only eight times, and the Red Dragons grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and finished with 17 second-chance points.

Cortland will host Fredonia Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in a make-up of a game originally scheduled for Jan. 21.
