Hello Red Dragons!
Even though we may be faced with some challenges in Cortland right now, in the grand scheme of things, we are doing pretty good. The team and the coaching staff are healthy, and our academic performance is looking pretty good right now!
The challenges in athletics due to COVID (which includes a cancellation of the indoor track and field season) are numerous, but neither insurmountable nor permanent. We're working to be ready when we do have the chance to compete again! If you follow us on
Instagram, you might have seen the 'relay challenge' where for a month team members demonstrated a different exercise to do while 'stuck' in the dorms.
I wanted to share some of the great work one of our current team members, senior communications major/distance runner/Student-Athlete Advisory Council Vice President
Shannon Imbornoni. Shannon has been doing some exciting work interviewing and profiling our NCAA champions from the past, a feature that we hope to add to the Cortland Athletics Website fairly soon. As part of her internship on campus with the Communications Office she recently wrote a piece for the Campus Bulletin profiling the involvement of some student-athletes in the community.
Check it out here!
Our annual
Cortland XC/TF Webstore, hosted by long-term local corporate sponsor
Graph-Tex, is open and accepting orders through Friday, November 13th. There are a number of great items available this year; what a great way to show your support and pride in the program! Personally I'm a big fan of our 'Family Forever' shirts.
As always, we thank you for your support and interest! Stay Safe and Sane!
Steve
