Chuck Winters guided Cortland's men's lacrosse program to two national titles, two national runner-up finishes and a total of nine national tournament appearances in 11 seasons as head coach from 1973-83.
 
* A native of Rochester, he earned both a bachelor's degree (1969) and master's degree (1970) in physical education from Bowling Green State University, where he played lacrosse from 1967-69 and was a graduate assistant coach in 1970. Earned honorable mention All-America honors as a senior.
 
* Cortland's men's lacrosse head coach from 1973-83. Also served as men's lacrosse assistant coach from 1970-72 and men's soccer assistant coach from 1970-77.
 
* Led men's lacrosse squad to a combined 94-55 in 11 seasons. Program won the 1973 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) College Division national title and the 1975 NCAA Division II national crown, advanced to the NCAA Division II semifinals in 1974 and 1978, and was the NCAA Division III national runner-up in 1980 and 1981 during the first two years the NCAA sponsored the sport at that division.
 
* His teams made eight straight NCAA appearances from 1974-81, and in the first six years of SUNYAC-sponsored lacrosse from 1978-83 finished a combined 30-1 with five league titles.
 
* Coached 47 All-Americans and 15 North-South Senior Game participants during his 11 seasons as head coach. Head coach of the North squad in the 1979 North-South Game and assistant coach in 1976.
 
* Assistant director of athletics at Cortland from 1977-83. Played a major role in Cortland's hosting of the 1982 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at Corey Gymnasium.
 
* Served as an athletic administrator at the United States Military Academy West Point for six years (assistant director of athletics from 1983-85; associate director of athletics from 1985-89).
 
* Director of athletics at Gettysburg College from 1989-2002.
 
* Inductee into the Ohio Lacrosse Association Hall of Fame in 2000 and Bowling Green State University Hall of Fame in 2004.
 
* Vice president of the USILA from 1990-92 and USILA Director of Officiating Services from 2009-17. Received USILA's Lifetime Service Award in 2007 and Frenchy Julien Service Award in 2014.
 
* NCAA Secretary of Rules Editor of Men's Lacrosse from 1980-83 and 1992-2008.
 
* Game day administrator for the University of Florida women's lacrosse program since 2009.
